BELLE-ANSE (BÈLANS- BEAUTIFUL COVE)

Previously known as Saltrou, the name was later changed by a congressman named Hugo Paul. It is believed that the name change was due to the breathtaking panoramic view of the city when coming down the mountain of Tapion. Bèlans is a “spice” blend that is used to prepare desserts and can be added to coffee and tea for extra flavor.

A seasoning blend that combines numerous spices and herbs to add a complex, warm taste to any dessert or your favorite hot drink. We wanted to produce a blend that’s suitable for Haitian Cake, Haitian Rum Cake, and various other sweet recipes. A perfect blend for holiday treats!

This Haitian Spice blend includes notes that are found in cuisines from around the world, especially African, French, Spanish, Arab, and Native American cuisines – all of which are also found in Haitian cuisine. Haitian dishes are succulent and provide a depth of flavor.
